-dzi ndes̲da    -ᙌ ᐣᑓᔆᑕ    -dzi ndes̪da    V

to be hurt (emotionally)

[∅-da < da₂ «sick»]  Perfective Affirmative

This construction literally means ‟X's heart became sore”, so the ‟subject” is marked by possessive prefixation of the noun -dzi ‟heart”, e.g. oodzi ndes̲da ‟he is hurt”. It is the perfective counterpart of -dzi nduda ‟to be sad”.
