Nahani, also Nahane, Nahanais, and other variants, is not the name of any particular language or people. Rather, it is a term that has been applied by various people and organizations to a variety of peoples and languages whose main common property is that they are not very familiar. In British Columbia, the term has most commonly been applied to the Kaska, Tagish, and Tahltan. It is based on terms found in a number of First Nations languages.
